Our Causes

Right from its inception, Kiara has believed in the principle that talents are gifts, and gifts are meant to be shared and freely given.
Living out that principle, indeed, it can be rightly called more a vocation than a mere principle, we have, for several years supported two worthy causes.

BOSCO Rainbow Home for Girls

This is an organization that runs a safe space, shelter and educational facilities for girls aged 4 years and above, who have been rescued from dangerous home and societal circumstances.

It has been our honour and blessing to support Rainbow Home in providing a place of safety, refuge and love and also ensure a good foundational school education in Kannada medium, followed by vocational training to enable their future independence.

The Fr. Clement Campos-Kiara Heartsong Cancer Fund

This is a fund that we set up and contribute to annually, to enable children suffering from serious blood disorders and cancers of the blood, who are patients at St.John's Hospital, Bangalore.

The Department of Paediatric Haemato-Oncology is a department with "heart". Working with them to provide life-saving medical aid to their little patients, many of whom come from below poverty line or challenging economic circumstances, is nothing but an honour and a privilege for us.

We prefer not to think of our work for these two causes as "charity", which somehow infuses a rather condescending tone to it.
This work is our privilege, because through it, our own personalities, particularly those of our young people are shaped and enriched by the qualities of empathy and the desire to make a difference where it is most needed: among the largely faceless poor.
We hope that allowing our students these opportunities to think of and work for other children who are in need will shape them into humane, concerned citizens of the future who can be the societal and global change that is so needed now and in the future.
